Description

Slammed Car is a masterfully crafted sequential discovery puzzle that showcases Juno’s signature blend of mechanical ingenuity, beautiful craftsmanship, and a series of satisfying challenges. Made with precision and a keen eye for detail, this unique design invites solvers to explore clever movements and surprising interactions between the pieces. A standout creation from one of the most respected designers in the puzzle world. This puzzle won the Jury Grand Prize at the 2019 Nob Yoshigahara Puzzle Design Competition held in Japan.

There is a very small nick on the back left side of the puzzle as shown in the last photo. This is as it arrived from Juno. This does not affect the solvability of the puzzle.

Meanders Box (172 step version) (2018) - Junichi Yananose (Juno)
The puzzle world eagerly awaits each wondrous creation from Junichi Yananose (Juno).  In 2018 Juno created two “Meanders Box” designs – one with a maximum of 172 steps, the other with a maximum of 348 steps.  This is the 172-step version, which actually can be configured in 4 different ways resulting in puzzles with 130, 134, 161, and 172 steps.  One interesting feature of this puzzle is that the puzzle you’re solving isn’t the one on top, it’s the one inside that you can’t see!...

Pelican (2016) - Osamu Kasho (Karakuri)
Karukuri craftsman Osamu Kasho is known for creating clever, whimsical animal-themed puzzle boxes.  This early work of his is particularly elegant, representing a simple stylized pelican’s head, with a solution in keeping with the puzzle’s theme involving a key clever and surprising step.  This hard-to-find puzzle has rarely been available by auction.Karakuri product description:This work was designed as a Christmas present for 2016.I wanted to make a box in the shape of a pelican’s head...

Fluctuation Box (2021) - Hiroshi Iwahara (Karakuri)
Karakuri craftsman Hiroshi Iwahara is known for puzzle boxes with highly creative and original mechanics.  Fluctuation Box is a fantastic example of this.  It has four layers constructed from beautifully contrasting woods that can independently slide in different directions.  The immensely fun challenge is to figure out how to translate this into a way to open this box.  All original packing material is included.Karakuri product description: This work was designed as a Christmas present fo...

A Box in a Bag (2010) - Kyoko Hoshino (Karakuri)
Kyoko Hoshino is a relative early Karakuri craftsman with a limited output of highly inventive puzzles, including especially boxes that combine wood and fabric.  A Box in a Bag is a classic of hers of this type.  A box sits in a bag that is closed on top.  The goal?  Open the box of course!  This hard-to-find puzzle has rarely been available by auction. Karakuri product description:This work was designed as a Christmas present for 2010. This is a box in the bag. You can not take it out. Th...
