Description

I’m offering up this cool design by Lucie that was expertly made by Pelikan.

Kevin Sadler wrote about it:

“This attractive puzzle by Lucie Pauwels is sent out in a special travel conformation – it is a nice hollow 3x3x3 cube containing a nice marble (pearl) and held in a frame by long dowels that go through each corner along each axis. The dowels need to be pushed out and the cube dismantled. I scrambled the pieces and left them for a while to lose any memory of the positioning and then set to rearranging the pieces back into shape. This is a nice logic puzzle that shouldn’t take long for experienced puzzlers but might be a decent challenge for a beginner. I found it quite fun after the effort required for the others. Looking at a Burrtools file there are 2 possible assemblies but I have so far only managed to find one of them.”

I made a Box that is actually an outer and inner sleeve leftover from my ‘Tube It In’ project. Outer sleeve is Tigerwood with Padauk Slipfeathers, Inner sleeve is Padauk with Wenge Slipfeathers.  All of the pieces with dowels and ‘pearl’ fit inside the inner sleeve.

Singmaster Packing - David Singmaster (1971) by John Devost
This design by Professor Singmaster (sadly passed away in 2023) was my very first puzzle offering at CubicDissection back in 2005, it’s 25 pieces that can be packed in the box 22 ways.I was going through my ‘Salvaged Piano Wood’ (see last photo of my keyboard wall hanging, that I made from our upright piano that was produced in the ‘roaring ‘20’s!), so I figured I’d make more of this classic puzzle with this antique lumber. As always everything gets my ‘triple buffing finish’ th...

This classic design was one of my earliest puzzle builds in the early 2000’s that I made for Bill Cutler. It features 18 pieces with four solutions, however finding one will definitely keep you busy for some time!I’ve always wanted to revisit it but in a much smaller scale.  This size is small enough to fit in a pocket so definitely not as tiny as Allan Boardman’s version! As always everything is given my ‘Triple Buffing’ process making for smooth buttery finish.Crafted from Canarywood...

Gouge Packing Puzzle - Gaétan Gouge by John Devost
I previously made a few of this surprisingly difficult packing puzzle by Gaétan and at the time I didn’t have any contact info for him but then a few years ago I was surprised by one of his puzzle purchases in ‘Paradise’.My plan was to make another run but life kinda’ took a turn so now I’ve managed to sort myself out and began making another run.Allard kindly blogged about the copies I made in 2014, here’s an excerpt:https://allardspuzzlingtimes.blogspot.com/2014/04/gouge-packing-p...

Pentablock - Stewart Coffin Design #2 by John Devost
I’ve been wanting to make this design for years and now after decades making puzzles finally made a copy using some of my Salvaged Piano Wood. One of the first puzzles that I purchased from Interlocking Puzzles (Wayne Daniel - RIP) in early 2000 was this familiar 12 Piece Pentomino design.  I made a box to contain the 3x4x5 (3940 solutions) and the 2x5x6 (264 solutions) configuration.Everything has my ‘Triple Buff Finish’ and comes with printed solutions sheet.Shipping cost to be determin...
