Description

Yasuaki Kikuchi embraces the holiday spirit when crafting Christmas puzzles more so than any other Karakuri craftsman.  His puzzle “one, two, TREE!” is incredibly clever.  Not only does it take the form of a Christmas tree, but it comes with tinsel and decorations so you can decorate the tree yourself.  It also involves amazing wood skills, with an incredibly well-disguised key step.  All original packing material is included.

The wolf from Grimm (2017) - Osamu Kasho (Karakuri)
Wolf from Grimm is a fantastic example of celebrated puzzle craftsman Osamu Kasho’s singular combination of playful, character-driven Karakuri design coupled with delightful puzzling mechanic.  It presents you with a sleeping, seemingly content wolf.  Can you open him up and discover what he just ate?  This is a wonderful puzzle that is fun to solve and looks great on display.   All original packing material is included. Karakuri product description: This work was designed for an exhib...

Honeybee (2009) - Haroyuki Oka (Karakuri)
This adorable early Karakuri box depicts a scene from nature – a bee flying about a flower.  A combination of at least six exotic woods are used to create a flower under which the box sits and a bee with wings and antenna that magnetically sticks to the flower and can be moved about it.  As with the best Kararukis the solution is connected to the theme of the puzzle in a delightful way.  This very rare puzzle box is by early craftsman Haroyuke Oka, who was responsible for a number of very c...

Ring Case (2019) - Junichi Yananose (Juno)
This sequential discovery puzzle box by famed puzzle craftsman Junichi Yananose (Juno) is utterly brilliant and one of his best.  As you would expect with a sequential discovery puzzle you have to move through a series of steps, but here each step is hard to find because each is so darned clever.  It’s just wonderful.  Even after you get to the hidden compartment you’ll discover a ring that gives the puzzle its name – and that seemingly won’t come out.  Can you open the box?  Can yo...
