Khartoum CT701 by Arjeu
Getting near the end of the Arjeu lots, and the biggest and best are here!
RARE, and the largest packing puzzle made by Arjeu (~6" square). The four pieces inside the frame appear to be Wenge, which was not typical in Arjeu products. NEW in original packaging as shown.
There is not a known copy of this puzzle in any collection, auction or web page collection I know of. Made in the 80's/90's by Arjeu.
Arjeu was a French company that produced over 90 wooden mechanical puzzles, many of which are interlocking puzzles. Arjeu's line of puzzles are known for their intricate designs and challenging nature. Many of the designs are from Stewart Coffin, Phillipe Dubois, Pierlot, and others. Appealing at first glance, these puzzles are also known for being difficult and require dexterity and problem-solving skills to assemble and disassemble. Interestingly, they are featured in the Canadian Center for Architecture! All puzzles are made from beech, sometimes colored to provide contrast.
