Midas Touch [Copy #34]

An incredible work by a master of the craft and art of puzzle-box making.

Hidden within the grid of wood are various moving parts that are quite hard to find, and which interact in ways that can be hard to follow - which is precisely the point!

This is copy number 34 of only 50 copies created, all of which were sold to those lucky enough to be selected as buyers by Stickman's internal lottery system.

Stickman's own description of the Midas Touch:

"Just as King Midas was the son of King Gordian, this “Midas Touch” puzzlebox shares its progeny in theme to the previous Stickman Gordian Knot. It was designed in response to many years of requests for a similar puzzle. Once freed, this puzzle’s Stickman coin is used to progress a minimum of 25 sequential steps, and reveal this box’s two hidden drawer compartments. This puzzle consists of a patchwork of various interlocking exotic woods - forming a 5” cube."

As was mentioned in the original description, the puzzle is a 5 inch cube, and is made from a variety of woods. I am no expert, but I believe it includes maple, cherry, purpleheart, padauk, and ebony (or katalox?), among others - but I could be wrong, those are just my best guesses! Regardless, they're all beautiful. Also, the coin that is displayed on the front of the puzzle is - I believe - the same as the coins used to signify the ending of the larger puzzle furniture pieces that Robert Yarger and Craig Thibodeau have collaborated to create.

Kept in a smoke-free, pet-free home, and has been kept in a humidity-controlled container when not in use.
