Description

Alfons originally released this insanely difficult burr puzzle in 2017, and this was the first burr that I had to sneak a peak at the burrtools file to disassemble it!

It’s essentially a 12 piece burr, however there’s a frame that restricts movement and three ‘Dog’ pieces packed inside that further hinder your progress.

Alfons drilled holes in the bottom of the frame and included a wire rod that you need to use for pushing/prodding the ‘Dogs’.

It’s a very clever puzzle and I tip my hat to Alfons on a job well done!

Here’s a brief description from Alfons:

“16 piece puzzle "Dog Catcher"

Level: 34.2.8.5.2.1.1.1.2

The dog are difficult to catch, they move 10 times”

Please note that the puzzle will ship in an ‘unsolved state’ (see first pics) as I cannot completely assemble it, I’ve had it completely apart several times but just can’t figure out the last dozen or so moves!

Shipping cost to be determined at close of auction.

Pentablock - Stewart Coffin Design #2 by John Devost
I’ve been wanting to make this design for years and now after decades making puzzles finally made a copy using some of my Salvaged Piano Wood. One of the first puzzles that I purchased from Interlocking Puzzles (Wayne Daniel - RIP) in early 2000 was this familiar 12 Piece Pentomino design.  I made a box to contain the 3x4x5 (3940 solutions) and the 2x5x6 (264 solutions) configuration.Everything has my ‘Triple Buff Finish’ and comes with printed solutions sheet.Shipping cost to be determin...

This classic design was one of my earliest puzzle builds in the early 2000’s that I made for Bill Cutler. It features 18 pieces with four solutions, however finding one will definitely keep you busy for some time!I’ve always wanted to revisit it but in a much smaller scale.  This size is small enough to fit in a pocket so definitely not as tiny as Allan Boardman’s version! As always everything is given my ‘Triple Buffing’ process making for smooth buttery finish.Crafted from Canarywood...

Tube It In - William Strijbos by John Devost
It seems hard to believe that it's been almost 20 years since I first made a small run of this clever packing puzzle design in 2006.  William has graciously allowed me to offer up another run as there were only a dozen copies made in 2006.The original metal version was William’s exchange puzzle at the IPP21 in Tokyo. This version is made using many wood varieties and includes a Stand.  The entire puzzle has been ‘triple buffed’ giving it a very nice sheen.Overall size is a little over 4...
