Description

From the Private Collection of the late Bill Darah

This is an exceptional opportunity to acquire the Official Souvenir Book of the 29th International Puzzle Party (IPP29), held in San Francisco, California, in 2009. These volumes are printed in very limited runs exclusively for the ~400 invited attendees and are virtually impossible to find through traditional retail channels.

Elite Provenance

This copy belonged to the late Bill Darah, a renowned and highly respected member of the international puzzle community. Items from Bill's collection are coveted for their history and the high standard of preservation he maintained.

Condition: Exceptional

This book is in superb, near-mint condition.

  • Glossy Cover: Features the vibrant "Tie-Dye" San Francisco theme; no creases or corner dings.
  • Interior Pages: Clean, white, and crisp. No markings, signatures (other than printed), or odors.
  • Binding: Solid and tight.

What’s Inside?

IPP29 was a high-tech celebration of the mechanical puzzle. This book provides an exhaustive record of the event, including:

  • The Design Competition: Photos and descriptions of the world-class entries for 2009.
  • The Exchange: A visual catalog of the puzzles swapped by attendees (an invaluable resource for identifying rare puzzles in your own collection).
  • Keynote Highlights: Details on the visit to the Computer History Museum and the Babbage Difference Engine.
  • Lectures & Workshops: Summaries of presentations by Don Knuth, Robert Lang (origami master), and more.

Respect for the Community

Please note that I have deliberately excluded photos of the puzzle solution pages in this listing. To honor the designers and maintain the spirit of the IPP, I believe the "secret" to these puzzles should belong only to the purchaser of this volume.
