Description
The Inelegant series of puzzles is a fairly unusual assembly or packing puzzle. The goal is to simply assemble the pieces into a cube. But each puzzle in the series delights in messing with the underlying design of the pieces. They started with the Inelegant Soma where the pieces were based on the Soma Cube design, but the voxels were stretched from being cubes into rectangular voxels that got glued into the Soma pieces we know and love. However this "distortion" results in forming a cube that appears to have gaps or voids between the pieces. This deceptively adds to the challenge of putting the pieces together, because unlike with most apparent cube puzzles, solvers can't simply put the pieces together until there is no gaps between individual parts as if assembling a 3d jigsaw. And Haym went on to design multiple variants on that original design spawning the Inelegant series.

Inelegant So-Ma might at first seem like it's a typo of Soma, but that hyphen is actually a snarky clue to what makes it unique in the Inelegant series.
I was feeling too lazy to separate the individual pieces for pictures since the reassembly wouldn't be as trivial. If anyone wants further pictures of the individual pieces before bidding, let me know under "Questions & Answers" and I'll send pictures. I don't know what the wood is, but I think it's canarywood.

If anyone is worried about the pictures showing spoilers on how to solve this puzzle, I can promise that it's not all that helpful without intensely studying the pictures. A casual glance to review the quality or condition of this puzzle won't be helpful in cheating the solve.
I will provide a solution Burr-Tools file for this puzzle if that is desired.
The puzzle will come with one wooden cube display stand.

Vertigo by Dee Dixon
Vertigo definitely lives up to its name considering how easy it is to go around and around in circles with this puzzle! It's a good thing that it's so pretty and nice to look at considering how long I spent just staring at it like an idiot lost on the next step to do! I liked it more than most of Dee's other works. It has some very nice steps that I was impressed by and liked to repeat just for the tactile pleasure of executing these steps.Grab this bad boy to enjoy as the first puzzle of 2026!I ...

SDBBB-3D by Juno and Plumbus Puzzles
SDBBB is the middle child of Juno's "disguised as a burr" puzzle box series where it really expands on SDBB's concept into a lengthier and harder solve. After the success of SDBB, SDBBB was a very hoped for and welcome follow up, because only 40 wooden copies were ever made. So it had a lot more people hungry for the print to make up for the sheer difficulty of finding anyone who would sell a wooden copy. The print almost wasn't made in 2 colors, but in just one. Which added to the final price, bu...

Waltz by Osanori (made by Pelikan)
Waltz is a 2 piece packer that Osanori came up with after a fan dared him to make such a puzzle that wasn't a trivial solve. While Waltz is not a difficult solve, it puts up enough of a fight on working the pieces into the box that solvers will still have a feeling of satisfaction once they fit everything into the box. I had a lot of fun just repeating the enjoyable tactile pleasure of leading the pair through their dance.I'm now letting it go since the solve has been memorized too well for me to...

Neighburr by Christoph Lohe
Neighburr is one heck of a caged burr. The pieces are nicely chunky with a pleasing heft to them, the woods are gorgeous, and the burr puzzle design is really fun! Too often the burr design gets fairly unstable and a pain to properly hold the pieces in place to finish taking them apart or to reassemble. But Neighburr stays fairly stable for most of the solve and loves to mess with you by letting you move the burr sticks really far in one direction or another without letting go. It's a mean one!N...
