"Detour Box" (DA-5) was the 2024 Christmas gift of fast rising star Daiki Arimura of the Karakuri Creation Group. Honestly, it is the cutest little box to behold! The box is made from walnut, magnolia, and maple, and displays beautifully. Here are Arimura's comments on the box:
"The drawer opens a little bit, but it won't open fully.
Can you guess how to open it?
As the name suggests, it will open by taking a detour."
As is the case with many of the works from the Karakuri Creation Group, one of the steps is beautifully well-masked! Of course, the box is precisely made, and my copy (first two photos; third photo is from the Karakuri web site for additional clarity) is in mint condition and in its original box with original plastic bag. Since it was a Karakuri Christmas present, it does not come with its individual solution, but I will supply a photocopy of the solution from the collected 2024 Karakuri Christmas puzzle solution sheet, should the winning bidder request it.
I can ship within the US as a ground advantage (first class) package for around $7.00 (depending on postal code), or at insured
priority mail pricing for between $10.00 and $15.00 (depending on postal
code) if preferred. I am happy to ship
internationally at cost (typically around $30, depending on
country), but I cannot always guarantee that overseas
packages can be insured. Please do not send payment until the postage cost
is determined. Note, sadly, that tariff wars may be in effect for packages received in certain countries.
