Prototype Obscura

I make several prototypes of every puzzle I release to test for functionality and wood choices. I usually keep them around or throw them away but once in a while I offer them to those who are interested. This copy does NOT have all the steps of the final release. It's one shy. However, the shapes are different. I tested stars on the knobs and even though they look great I decided to use triangles instead for the final release. This copy is a good example of how design changes and inspiration occur while prototyping . Woods used are padauk and yellowheart with spalted maple accents. Small imperfections can be found.
