Description

Favus is design No. 9643 in the Naef range. Designed in 1985 by Toshiaki Betsumiya and made and sold by Kurt Naef of Switzerland.

Goal: Assemble all 12 pieces into a three layer hexagonal shaped tower.
I’ve seen various version of this puzzle since made by others but this is the original design.
I can definitely say this is quite a difficult puzzle to put together.
Size:  120 x 120 x 88mm
Materials: I don’t know the species of wood but its very well made with a dark reddish brown wood.
Condition:  Puzzle is in good condition. The box is fair. A little scuffed on a couple of edges but it still has all the original packing inside to hold the puzzle secure and the original information and solution sheet.

General Information:

This is Brian Young from Mr Puzzle in Australia selling some doubles as a result of merging Ray Mead’s collection into my own existing collection.

If you have any questions you can email me separately at mrpuzzle@mrpuzzle.com.au  But please don’t email and ask to discontinue the auction. All auctions will run their duration. It’s the fairest course for everyone.

Prices are in Australian Dollars (not US Dollars).
We much prefer payment via Wise or other bank transfer. PayPal is also possible.

After the auction please message me first to let me know if you would like standard or express postage.

Other countries please request a quote.

If you buy more than one item I will be happy to combine ship and quote postage based on exact weight. Usually unless a very heavy puzzle is involved it won’t be much different to the single item.

Import duties/tariffs are not included in the final price. The import duty or tariff rate may be different for every country so please check the rate that applies to your own country. It is usual practice that import duties or tariffs are paid by the buyer at the point of import or delivery in your own country. USA is the exception. The USA government has mandated that the tariff be paid to them from Australia before we can send the parcel. The tariff percentage for puzzles made in Switzerland is currently set at 12.5% + Customs clearance fee.

Lattice 18 piece burr designed by Bill Cutler
This is one of Bill’s first difficult-to-take apart designs. Designed in 1975. Made by Jerry McFarland during the 1990s.Rather than the pieces being side by side in the puzzle Bill found that by separating the pieces slightly, he could create more notches without splitting the pieces in two, and this made for more flexibility and trickier moves.Material: Maple, Walnut and Cherry.  Size: 93 x 93 x 93mmCondition: I did the first few moves and the puzzle is working very smoothly.General Informa...
