Description

⟬ Juno Fortnight ⟭——[ puzzles designed by Junichi Yananose ]——04. Aussie Crystal (2017)

from Juno's description:

An interlocking puzzle designed by Junichi Yananose (Juno) in 2013.

The assembled shape of the puzzle is the same as a traditional 9 piece burr puzzle commonly known as Japanese Crystal or Great Pagoda. Juno's version consists of six complex and unusual shaped pieces and it has a level 6 unique solution.

The puzzle is difficult to solve but is not extremely hard, and it could be solved by people who are not used to playing with a puzzle.

Several small elements were glued together to make the shape of the pieces, so Juno carefully chose the construction to have at least two unit squares of gluing surface. Some of the end parts are also reinforced by bamboo dowels.

made from silver ash and Queensland maple.

Juno - Tangled Clip Burr (2018)
⟬ Juno Fortnight ⟭——[ puzzles designed by Junichi Yananose ]——22. Tangled Clip Burr (2018) from Juno's description: This is a twelve-piece board burr puzzle that requires 15 moves to take the first piece apart from the assembled shape. The shape of the puzzle pieces looks like a paper clip and the pieces are quite tangled together when it is assembled. The difficulty of the puzzle is extreme, even harder than its relative 3D Shuriken. made from...

Juno - Coin Case (2020)
⟬ Juno Fortnight ⟭——[ puzzles designed by Junichi Yananose ]——07. Coin Case (2020) from Juno's description: This is the simplest puzzle box Juno has ever designed. The number of steps is also small, and it is an easy puzzle. Some of our customers might solve the puzzle within a minute but if you cannot find out the trick, it can take a lot longer. Since Juno designed many complex, difficult puzzles, he thought it will be good to occasionally release easier p...

Juno - Headed Lattice (2019)
⟬ Juno Fortnight ⟭——[ puzzles designed by Junichi Yananose ]——10. Headed Lattice (2019) from Juno's description: There are only four pieces to the puzzle, but it requires relatively high numbers of 20 moves to remove the first piece from the assembled shape. The pieces become unstable during assembling/disassembling the puzzle, but the end pieces prevent a shortcut solution done by rotational piece movements. The puzzle has only two possible assemblies and i...

Juno - Pisa #2 + Cubin Burr (2017)
⟬ Juno Fortnight ⟭——[ puzzles designed by Junichi Yananose ]——17. Pisa #2 + Cubin Burr (2017) from Juno's description: Juno designed Pisa in 1994 and it won a prize at Hikimi Puzzle Competition held in Japan. The eight pieces of Pisa have a through hole on the cube and this construction makes the puzzle relatively easy and gives multiple solutions. He decided to use blind holes for Pisa #2 and chose an elegant selection of the eight pieces among 16 possibilities...
