Buss Box by Buss Wooden Boxes

Black Walnut and Maple

An unusual and vintage puzzle, this handmade box is characterized by a "fanciful organic style" crafted by Fred & Marilyn Buss in the Mid-Century Modernism style, featuring a stained finish and made of high-quality Black Walnut and Maple. The lid closure keeps your items secure, and the box comes unboxed, revealing a unique piece of puzzles art.  The puzzle is about 6x6x5" and is very solid.

Fred and Marilyn Buss have been involved in handcrafts since 1971, specializing in bandsawn boxes with a fanciful, organic style.  They are known for their fine wood selection, which includes salvaged hardwoods and burls, and their beautifully finished pieces.  The box-making process involves careful wood seasoning, designing, bandsawing, shaping, and smoothing, culminating in a lustrous Danish-type oil and wax finish.
