Description

Exchange puzzle for IPP 23 (2003) in Chicago.
Designed by Maria Isabel Binimelis Bassa & Albert Violant i Holz.
Produced by Juan Binimelis Ramirez.

20 cubes with pins and holes, to be assembled into a cube.

Goal

Put the 20 pieces of the puzzle together joining pins and holes to form the first iteration of the Menger sponge (i.e., a 3x3x3 cube with the center of each face and the center of the cube empty), so that all the pins remain in the interior of the structure.

Literal Lateral Slide by William Waite - RARE!
This is a very tricky puzzle to disassemble.  The simple exterior hides a fascinating interior.  If you want a peek, you can see a bit of the inside in the 2002 IPP Design Competition PDF.  The puzzle is a 5" cube that weighs in at almost two pounds.  It's made from walnut, jatoba, and jarrah. The puzzle is located in the United States, but I will ship worldwide.Customs forms for international shipments will reflect actual payments.Payments can be made through PayPal (Friends & Family ...
