Constructed from walnut, maple, cherry, and an exotic (or burl) wood used for front and back of the puzzle.
The mechanism can be solved without the use of external tools. No banging, forcing, or spinning allowed. Once fully open, the mechanics can be viewed and in the palm of your hand.
