Description
I used torrified ash, sapele and tigerwood to make this copy of Blinded. One of only two made. Torrefied wood (or roasted wood) is hardwood baked in an oxygen-free kiln at high temperatures. This process eliminates moisture, sap, and sugars and creates a highly stable, rot-resistant wood that is lighter, stiffer, darker and less prone to warping. I really like how dark this turned out after a hand rubbed oil and wax finish. Measurements are 5x3.5x4.

While testing different wood combinations I made this copy of Rune Lock from Patagonian rosewood. Only one made using this wood. Heartwood starts in the center then fades to sapwood at the edges resulting in an unusual and unique appearance. Patagonian rosewood is known for its bold beautiful grains and dense heavy structure. Thanks for looking.
