Extremely RARE 1984 IPP4 London Exchange Puzzle - "Nob & Masa" (Nob Yoshigahara)

Up for auction is a museum-quality, true holy grail for mechanical puzzle collectors: an original exchange puzzle from the 4th International Puzzle Party (IPP4), held in London in August 1984.

​This beautiful wooden piece was designed and made by the legendary Nobuyuki "Nob" Yoshigahara and his master craftsman collaborator, "Masa." Early IPP puzzles (pre-IPP10) are exceedingly difficult to find, and surviving pieces crafted by Nob himself are the crown jewels of the puzzle community.

​The Mechanics:

This is a 2D interlocking packing puzzle. The wooden pieces are precisely cut into irregular shapes. When solved correctly and slid into the side-track of the included wooden frame, and interlocking pieces.
