Description

???? Special Provenance Note: ???? This puzzle comes directly from the personal estate and collection of the late, legendary puzzle designer and enthusiast, Bill Darrah. Up for auction is a pristine, Mint in Box (MIB) and unopened mechanical puzzle, Shifty Maze. What makes this listing incredibly special is that it was designed, crafted, and owned by Bill Darrah himself! This was his official exchange puzzle for the 22nd International Puzzle Party (IPP22) held in Antwerp, Belgium in 2002. Owning a sealed Darrah original that comes directly from his personal collection is an exceptional rarity.

The Puzzle:

As the name implies, this is a clever sliding and shifting maze challenge. Constructed entirely from precision-cut acrylic, the puzzle requires you to navigate the internal mechanics by shifting the layers to find the solution. Proudly displayed and cut directly into the clear acrylic casing is "Shifty Maze by Bill Darrah and IPP22," cementing its history and origins.

Condition:

Mint in Box (MIB) and Unopened. This puzzle remains in its original, sealed state exactly as it was prepared over two decades ago. The all-acrylic construction is pristine, flawless, and clear, with the engravings perfectly readable.

This is a true investment-grade opportunity to add an untouched, original Bill Darrah design to your collection, complete with unbeatable provenance. Please review all photos for the exact condition. Shipping will be calculated at the end of the auction. Feel free to reach out with any questions!

Shipping determined at close of auction.
