Up for auction is a beautiful example of the Gala Cube, originally presented as an Edward Hordern Exchange puzzle at the 25th International Puzzle Party in Helsinki, 2005. This is a must-have for serious collectors of mechanical puzzles and IPP memorabilia.

The Design:

Crafted from high-quality contrasting hardwoods, the Gala Cube consists of 8 unique elements. The goal is to assemble the pieces into a solid 3x3x3 cube. The striking visual patterns on each face are a testament to the complex internal geometry designed by Novichkova.

Provenance:

This piece features the collector’s cataloging label "2005/5," identifying its origin year and sequence. It has been kept in a smoke-free, climate-controlled environment and shows the natural grain and luster of the original woods.
