Description
Just WOW!  This early work by Hideaki Kawashima may be his masterpiece.  It is comprised of 3 distinct compartments that open in an integrated fashion requiring a total of 38 moves!  It relies on the extremely precise workmanship that Kawashima is well-known for.  This is the special Izumiya Edition that has a beautiful intricate design on each of its faces.  It’s enormous, and will be a showpiece of your Karakuri collection as it was ours.

Karakuri product description:

Three cubes are connected.
It is impossible to separate them.
One of joining plates is the key.
If you slide the 1st step plate of one box, you can not open the other twoboxes.
It takes 38 (8+7+8+7+8) moves to open all the lids at the same time.

This box is completely different from Snake Cube (KW-6).
I developed completely new mechanism.

Expansion V (2013) - Akio Kamei (Karakuri)
Akio Kamei is the founder of the Karakuri Creation Group and is famous for puzzle boxes that merge impeccable craftsmanship, beautiful presentation, and clever themes and solutions.  Among his many boxes is a series that expand in various ways as you solve them.  This might be his most intricate, an expansion box with a “n-ary” solution mechanism that requires 35 steps to open.  This is a relatively large puzzle with a striking circular cutout on each face, resulting in a box that looks q...

Boxing Kangaroo (2021) - Yoh Kakuda (Karakuri)
I am having a hard time selling off this one.  Yoh Kakuda is well-known for puzzles with adorable animal themes and distinctive narrative style, and what could be better than a puzzle box that’s a boxing kangaroo?  The solution is perfectly connected to what it represents.  The workmanship is superb, including an incredibly adorable move.  All original packing material is included.Karakuri product description:This work was designed as a Christmas present for 2021.This is a kangaroo with an...

A Box in a Bag (2010) - Kyoko Hoshino (Karakuri)
Kyoko Hoshino is a relative early Karakuri craftsman with a limited output of highly inventive puzzles, including especially boxes that combine wood and fabric.  A Box in a Bag is a classic of hers of this type.  A box sits in a bag that is closed on top.  The goal?  Open the box of course!  This hard-to-find puzzle has rarely been available by auction. Karakuri product description:This work was designed as a Christmas present for 2010. This is a box in the bag. You can not take it out. Th...
